Bekannt ist uns Esmahan Aykol als Autorin von einigen Istanbulkrimis mit der Krimibuchhändlerin Kati Hirschel, die zur Detektivin wird.
In ihrem neuen Buc “Goodbye Istanbul” beschreitet die Autorin nun neue Wege und beschreibt die Geschichte von Ece, die Istanbul verlässt, um in London einen neuen Anfang zu wagen und ihren Liebeskummer zu vergessen.
Sehr sensibel und geschickt verknüpft die Autorin die Erzählungen aus der Heimat (Ece erzählt diese ihrer Cousine) mit der Realität und den veränderten Lebensumständen in London.
Ein überaus lesenswertes Buch.
